XFL Week 2 Lines and Predictions

With Week 2 of the XFL season upon us, so are the lines for the upstart league. (That somehow gets away with Pat Mcafee on the actual field another story another time.)

Saturday’s games

The first game on the weekend docket is two 2-0 teams the New York Guardians and Matt McGloin and 12 Guage Cardale Jones with the DC Defenders. DC is favored in the game by a touchdown (-7). The over/under is set at 46.5 and a half points.

So enough about the numbers what would I do if I were a betting man? Take the Guardians. Now that these teams can watch some film on each other I expect the Defenders to step up and slow down an offense that wasn’t so great last week versus Seattle. In fact if you recall to last week’s game versus Seattle the Dragons turned the ball over in critical moments that would eventually lead to DC TDs. Personally I don’t see the Guardians giving those types of luxurious field positions the Dragons served up last week. The game is set to kick off at 1 pm CST and 12 pm MST.

Game Two is one that sees two teams trying to get their first one of the season with the Tampa Bay Vipers and Seattle Dragons. This game favors the Vipers, but by safety, so two points. A toss-up pretty much and the line sits at 43.5 as well. Look, this game personally will be my favorite to watch this weekend. Seattle played well last week they just shot themselves in the foot at the most inopportune times. Tampa Bay, on the other hand, looked like their NFL buddies the Buccaneers, just getting run out of Metlife Stadium. As for my take, I think you have to Like Seattle this week. Jim Zorn and his calm, clean play calls and reactions (seriously did you see that last week?) look for them to eke out this win with a field goal. Also, this game in Seattle the forecast is for rain, so the first XFL game in the conditions is upon us. The game is set to kick off at 4 pm CST and 3 pm MST.

Sunday’s games

Game three see’s another set of 0-1 teams looking for a W.

Dallas is favored in this game by four. and the over/under is looking at roughly 47 points. Look, last week the Renegades were missing their starting quarterback in Landry Jones. They had a Instagram model starting, not really a way to start off your inaugural season. Bottom line expect to see a different offense this week from Dallas and expect them to notch their first win in franchise history. The game is set to kick off at 2 pm CST and 1 pm MST.

The final game of the week is probably the most anticipated if we’re being honest. Houston Roughnecks and the St. Louis Battlehawks, Houston is favored by eight in this game and the over/under is 49. The highest predicted scores required. Houston came out and had a great showing on offense. In fact, in the Twitterverse, there were comparisons of PJ Walker looking Deshaun Watson, so there is that. Houston may have been hot, but the Battlehawks were shotgunning But Light Seltzers in their locker room post-game to cool off after upsetting the Renegades. Don’t look for that to be the case again. Houston notches this win and moves one step closer to Hosting the championship in their house. Kickoff is 5 pm CST and MST.
