With their draw on Saturday, the Scorpions moved into the eighth spot on the NASL table, but is that enough to save coach Alen Marcina’s job?
The third year coach that led the same team to their first championship last season has experienced much difficulty in the 2015 season. The Scorpions have only earned nine points in the Fall season and with 10 matches remaining for the year.
If the Scorpions are able to gain momentum after Saturday’s draw, maybe they can manage to win a few more and bring the defending champions to a higher place on the table by the end of the season.
Making it into the playoffs seems highly unlikely for the defending champions considering they are six points behind the Tampa Bay Rowdies and Fort Lauderdale Strikers for the final playoff berth.
Hopefully the Scorpions can still make their way up the table before the end of the season and Coach Marcina will have the chance to prove himself once again.
With the Rowdies firing Thomas Rongen, how do the Scorpions now let Marcina go and go after a big name coach? Marcina has to be feeling the pressure, but we all know he works well under pressure.
The Scorpions will return to the pitch on Saturday when they welcome the Ottawa Fury to Toyota Field at 7:30 p.m.
