TUCSON – The San Antonio Rampage went into the desert and took three points from the Pacific Division-leading Tucson Roadrunners (29-16-3-1) at the Tucson Convention Center on Friday and Saturday night.
The matchups brought San Antonio closer to a top-four seed in the division and the Silver and Black won the tight contest on Saturday without two players who were not back in time after being sent down from the St. Louis Blues.
Here is a recap of the weekend games for those who may have missed it:
RAMPAGE 1, Tucson Roadrunners 2 (OT)
Much like past contests, Friday’s matchup between the Rampage and Roadrunners was just as tight through 60 minutes. Lane Pederson opened the scoring for the home team when he put home a wrist shot past San Antonio goaltender Ville Husso.
San Antonio evened the scoring in the second period when Shawn St. Amant scored on a breakaway attempt, knotting the score at one apiece. The third period remained scoreless and in overtime, the Roadrunners sealed the win with former San Antonio skater Mike Sislo’s goal.
