SAN ANTONIO – The San Antonio Rampage earned a split in their weekend series with the Stockton Heat (31-25-2-4) at the AT&T Center on Friday and Saturday night.

The results combined with the Texas Stars’ shootout win, saw the Silver and Black fall to sixth place in the Pacific Division and five points out of the final playoff spot with six games to play.

Here is a weekend recap of the Rampage’s two games with Stockton:

Friday: RAMPAGE 5, Stockton Heat 3

Five different players lit the lamp for San Antonio en route to a crucial win. Despite Stockton getting the early goal, the Rampage would respond with two. Brendan Ranford tied things up quickly and Connor Bleackley gave the Silver and Black the lead.

Samuel Blais and Rocco Grimaldi gave the Rampage a three-goal lead early in the second period. Stockton rallied back with goals from Emile Poirier and Brett Findlay.

However, an empty net goal from Zach Sanford would seal the win for San Antonio.

Saturday: RAMPAGE 1, Stockton 4

The next night might have seen San Antonio’s playoff chances slip away for good. Despite an early goal, Stockton responded with four straight to seal the win.

Sam Blais scored his second consecutive goal of the weekend with Zach Sanford getting the helper on the tally, extending his point streak.

From there, it was all Stockton. Darren Nowick, Brett Pollock, Morgan Klimchuk and Ryan Lomberg all tallied goals in the Heat win.

San Antonio will now have to win four of their final five games in order to clinch a playoff berth.
