Incarnate Word Cardinals football head coach Eric Morris will be named offensive coordinator at Washington State, sources confirmed to the Project Spurs Network Sunday.

Morris led UIW to a 10-3 record, the most wins in program history, and two conference championships over his four years at the university. UIW lost in the second round of the FCS Playoffs to Sam Houston State on Saturday.

On3Sports’ Matt Zenitz was the first to report on the news of Washington State expecting to hire Morris.

Prior to joining UIW, Morris was the offensive coordinator at Texas Tech from 2014-17 under then-head coach Kliff Kingsbury, who went on to become the head coach of the NFL’s Arizona Cardinals, who currently own a 9-2 record.

Morris was also previously the wide receivers coach at Washington State in 2012.

The news comes as the Cougars announced Jake Dickert as their new head coach after he led Washington State to a 3-2 record and a 7-5 finish overall since he took over for the fired Nick Rolovich.

UIW Athletic Director Richard Duran declined to comment on the story for the Project Spurs Network.
