Vicky McIntyre signs training camp deal with Stars

All-American Vicky McIntyre has signed a training camp contract with the San Antonio Stars, according to the WNBA transaction page.

McIntyre led Oral Roberts to a historic season and was the first woman in the history of the school to be drafted. She was selected 20th in the 2015 WNBA Draft by the Seattle Storm, but was released before the season began. She then played in China with Heilongjiang Shenda.

The center averaged 15.4 points per game and shot 49 percent from the field in her time with Oral Roberts. She will join Stars training camp on April 27.


The Stars will open the preseason with two games in Connecticut. One against the Atlanta Dream on May 4 and against the Sun on May 5.

The team will open the 2016 season on May 14 against the Dream at 7 p.m. at the AT&T Center.
