HIGHLIGHTS:

HOUSTON – The UTSA Roadrunners used a strong defensive performance to defeat the Rice Owls (1-5, 0-2 C-USA) 20-7 at Rice Stadium on Saturday night.

The win is the third straight for the Roadrunners, who improved to 2-0 in conference play for the first time in program history.

B.J. Daniels put UTSA up 10-0 and that would be a lead they would not give up. Daniels ran for 61 yards on the night. The Roadrunners’ defense stood out as they took advantage of four different Rice turnovers, both through the air and on the ground.

Jalen Rhodes finalized the scoring with a one-yard touchdown run to make it 20-7, giving the Roadrunners their third straight win.
