Nothing in the record books is safe around the UTSA Roadrunners this season. In what has been a record setting season on nearly every level, the Roadrunners traveled to Ruston to take on the 2-4 Louisiana Tech Bulldogs. UTSA had never won in Ruston before.
Mark off another record in the annals of UTSA Football.
FINAL! No. 24/25 UTSA wins its record eighth straight to open the year, flying past Louisiana Tech with 35 straight points in Ruston! NEXT: UTSA is at UTEP on Nov. 6.

UTSA Defense shows up
The Roadrunner defense put together a highlight reel on the road. Clarence Hicks logged 2.5 sacks while the rest of the UTSA defense would add 3.5 more to match a school record for sacks (6) in a game set on September 3, 2016 against Alabama State.
HICKS! Clarence with another multi-sack game as we escape a red-zone threat with no damage.

As the final seconds ticked off the clock, La Tech tried to score one more time only to have Fred Robinson pick off the pass in the end zone to pad the stats on an incredible defensive performance.
The Return of Zakhari
Zakhari Franklin started the season in incredible fashion but injury along with a receiver corps that took up the slack has left Franklin quiet over the past few weeks.
On Saturday, Franklin roared back onto the stat sheet with 5 catches for 118 yards and 2 touchdowns.
FRANKLIN! Z with his second TD grab of the game.
An 11-play, 72-yard drive.

Open week
UTSA will enjoy an open week in their schedule for the first time in Jeff Traylor’s tenure as Head Coach. the 2020 season schedule was marred by COVID and saw the Roadrunners play 7 straight weeks. In 2021, UTSA has played another 8 game run without a break.
Conference Picture
UTSA moves to 8-0 and 4-0 in Conference play solidifying first place in the C-USA West after UAB lost to Rice this week 30-24.
After the Runners come off the open week they will travel to El Paso and take on the 6-1(3-0) UTEP Miners on November 6th.
