SAN ANTONIO – The UTSA Roadrunners used a strong second half to defeat the Rice Owls (0-7, 0-3) 31-27 at the Alamodome on Saturday afternoon.
Roadrunners quarterback Lowell Narcisse completed 19 of 29 passes, threw for 212 yards, and two touchdowns in the win as UTSA earned their second straight win.
The game picked up in the second half with UTSA trailing 10-7. The Roadrunners scored 17 points in the third quarter to make it a 24-24 game going into the final quarter of play.
Narcisse put UTSA up for good when he found Tariq Woolen for a 14-yard completion McCormick had back-to-back rushes of 30 and nine yards to set up a Zakhari Franklin touchdown, putting the Roadrunners up 31-27.
Rice was desperate and needed a touchdown but the Roadrunners’ defense came up with some big stops and a fumble recovery to seal the win.
