Two San Antonio Stars have been named to the WNBA Western Conference All-Star team which will square off against the East in the annual All-Star Game, which will take place this weekend.

Stars’ guards Danielle Robinson and Kayla McBride will represent the Stars on the West team which will take place in Uncasville Connecticut.

“Of course it would mean a lot. It’s an honor,” said Robinson when asked how she would feel if she was selected again, “You’re playing with the best players in the world and to be selected would absolutely be an honor.”

Kayla McBride, the 3rd overall pick in the 2014 WNBA draft, was selected along with Riquna Williams of the Tulsa Shock and Jantel Lavender of the Los Angeles Sparks as a replacement for one of three injured players for the West squad. This is McBride’s first selection to the All-Star team and it comes after she missed five games recovering from a foot injury.

Both Robinson and McBride were in the top 3 scorers for the Stars last two games and both made great contributions to the Stars most recent 80-62 win against the Fever. Robinson finished with a team-high 18 points, while McBride added 14 in the victory.

The 2015 WNBA All-Star Game will be played on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. inside Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn. and be aired on ABC.
