HIGHLIGHTS:
SAN ANTONIO – The Trinity Tigers opened conference play with a 10-7 home loss to Millsaps College (MS) at Trinity Football Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
The loss was the second straight for the Tigers and the first of Southern Athletic Association play.
Due to a rainy day in South Texas, the field was soggy and muddy, leading to 11 total fumbles in the game. Tigers quarterback Tommy Ware connected with Tommy Levine on a 49-yard touchdown for Trinity’s only score of the game.
After a Trinity fumble, Millsaps took over on the Tigers 18-yard line and drove it in for a score to knot the game up 7-7 in the second quarter.
Sloppy play from both teams would see the game remain tied until the final moments of the game. That’s when the visitors hit the game-winning field goal as time expired.
UP NEXT:
Trinity is now 1-2 (0-1, SAA) on the season and will return to the field in two weeks when they take on Birmingham-Southern (AL) College in another SAA Conference matchup.
