MEMPHIS – The Trinity Tigers defeated Rhodes (TN) College 24-7 to move above .500 in Southern Athletic Association play.
The Tigers came out aggressive in the first quarter when quarterback Wyatt Messex found Tommy Lavine for a 30-yard reception before rushing for a score, putting Trinity up 7-0. Trinity added another touchdown and field goal to make it 17-0 later on in the half.
Rhodes would score just before halftime to cut the Trinity lead to 17-7 at the break.
Trinity added one final touchdown play as Messex connected with Stewart to finalize the scoring at 24-7.
Trinity is now 3-2 (2-1, SAA) on the season and will return to the field next Saturday when they travel to face Centre (KY) College.
