The Chicago Bears announced today that they have signed former Texas State and Brenham High School offensive lineman Adrian Bellard to their 90-man roster just prior to the team’s rookie mini camp.
To make room for Bellard on the roster, Chicago waived safety Anthony Jefferson.
The 6-5, 314-pound tackle started all 12 of his school’s games each of the past three seasons and was a three-time winner of the Texas State John O’Hara Memorial Offensive Lineman of the Year Award.
Last season Bellard was voted honorable mention All-Sun Belt Conference after registering 56.5 knockdown blocks and not allowing a sack. He played in the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl all-star game in Los Angeles after the season.
Bellard was one of several Bobcats signed as undrafted free agents, as we reported on Bobcats Insider.
