The San Antonio Stars underwent a winter of change. On January 14, the team announced they had dropped the “silver” from their name and will now be known as the Stars. It was also announced that H-E-B was the franchise’s first major sponsor.
At the time the jerseys were revealed, fans took a dislike to the uniforms because of the large H-E-B logo in the front where the team name used to be. Fans called it distracting and felt it took away focus from the team.
Last Wednesday the team unveiled the tweaks made to the uniforms and they are a hit. The jerseys feature the new Stars logo across the chest along with a smaller H-E-B logo below the numbers. The tweaks mean the team can maintain their identity and still show off H-E-B as their main sponsor.
The Stars will tip-off the 2014 season on May 16 when they square off in Atlanta against the Dream before returning home the next night to face the Tulsa Shock at the AT&T Center at 7 p.m.
