The San Antonio Stars (11-10) are on the road this afternoon as they face the Phoenix Mercury (15-3). The Stars are coming off a loss at home vs Seattle while the Mercury are coming in with a win on the road against the Chicago Sky. The Stars are 7-4 on the road this season and have won six of the last seven as the road team. The Phoenix Mercury are 7-1 at home and have won nine straight games and are in control as the WNBA’s top winning team.

This is the third of four meetings between the two teams. The road team has won the past two games. They will meet again in August. Listed below are three things to watch for from the Stars tonight.

1) Getting off a good start – This will be crucial. If the Stars don’t get off a to a good start, the Mercury will take advantage and they are too talented to let the Stars back in the game. It’s important for the Stars to score early and maintain the lead.

2) Danielle Robinson – She is one of the few players the Stars have that can break the Phoenix Mercury due to her quickness and speed. If she takes advantage and decides to take over, the Stars can win the game.

3) Record breakers? – The Mercury are playing extremely well and have won nine straight. But, the Stars have shown toughness and grittiness on the road when it is needed. Can the Stars stop the Mercury quest for 10 wins in a row?

The game will be on WNBA LiveAccess. Tip off is 3 pm Phoenix time, 5 pm local time and 6 pm EST. Remember to check back for Stephen Anderson’s post game report and make sure to follow the Stars Hoops staff on Twitter for coverage of the game.
