Shawn Chin returns to San Antonio for 2017 season

San Antonio FC has re-signed forward Shawn Chin for the upcoming 2017 season, the team announced last week.

Chin spend 2016 with SAFC, scoring three goals and one assist. He suffered an injury in an Open Cup Match against Houston, but would return in the final six games of the season.

“We are really excited to have Shawn Chin back,” said SAFC Head Coach Darren Powell. “Unfortunately, last year he suffered a bad injury, but his hunger and desire to get back in a timely fashion shows his determination to play for the club. He had meaningful minutes for us last season, scoring several goals and he is a player who can be very versatile for us. We are excited to have him back for 2017.”

The club begins training camp on February 6 before taking on the University of the Incarnate Word in preseason play on February 11 at Toyota Field in a closed preseason match.
