DES MOINES – The San Antonio Rampage collected three out of four points in their two game series with the Iowa Wild, earning a two game split at the Wells Fargo Center on Thursday and Friday evening.
Thursday: RAMPAGE 2, Iowa 3 (OT)
The Rampage earned a point in a 3-2 overtime loss to the Wild on Thursday night. Alex Grant opened the scoring for the home squad by burying a loose puck past Spencer Martin in the opening 20 minutes.
San Antonio took their first lead in the third period with goals from Jesse Graham and Andrew Agozzino. However, the Wild forced the extra period with Pat Cannone’s goal, evening the score 2-2. Iowa got the extra point in overtime with Christoph Bertschy’s game-winner from the slot.
Friday: RAMPAGE 4, Iowa 2
San Antonio took all two points from the Wild on Friday evening with a dominate performance. The Rampage took a two-goal lead to the second period with goals from Felix Girard and Julien Nantel. Iowa cut the Rampage lead in half with Grant’s second goal in the series. Dominic Toninato and Trent Vogelhuber added tallies for the Silver and Black, ensuring the win.
The win sees San Antonio take three out of a possible four points from the Iowa Wild to kick off a lengthy road trip that will see the Rampage play 10 of 12 games away from the AT&T Center in the month of November.
Up next: The Rampage are now 7-2-1-0 (15 points) on the season and will return to the ice on Wednesday when they take on the Grand Rapids Griffins at 10 a.m. for a morning contest.
