Sebastien Thuriere named to Haiti camp roster for Copa America Centenario

San Antonio FC midfielder Sebastien Thuriere has been named to the Haiti training camp roster for 2016 2016 Copa America Centenari, the team announced on Friday.

Haiti will play Peru on June 4, Brazil on June 8 and Ecuador on June 12 as part of the group stages. Thuriere is training with the squad and if Haiti advances from group play, they will play matches in knockout-style until they are eliminated.

“Being called into the 28-man camp is another great feeling and step in my international career,” said Thuriere. “The level of competition in the camp is very high, so I will do my best to make the final roster. It would be a tremendous honor to represent Haiti in our first Copa America tournament. I was a part of the team that qualified and I hope to make the squad and have a positive impact.”

Thuriere has played in six games with SAFC this season, totaling 434 minutes played. In addition, he also played 90 minutes in Wednesday’s Lamar U.S. Open Cup.

San Antonio FC will return to USL action tomorrow against the Oklahoma City Energy FC at 7:30 p.m. at Toyota Field.
