Scorpions to play Laredo or Austin in U.S. Open Cup

The San Antonio Scorpions will play in the U.S. Open Cup for the fourth consecutive year. This time they will play in the third round of the competition against the winner of the match between the Laredo Heat of the Premier Development League (PDL) and Austin Aztex of the United Soccer League (USL).

If Austin wins, the Scorpions will host the Aztex on May 27 at Toyota Field, but if the Heat wins then the red and black would travel to Laredo for the match.

San Antonio is 3-3 all-time in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup. They have wins against Laredo, Houston and NTX Rayados. Their losses have come against Charlotte, FC Tuscon and FC Dallas.
