At the ninth seed on this year’s combined Spring and Fall table, the San Antonio Scorpions hope for the best out of their remaining six games.
San Antonio finished their last match with a 3-3 draw against the Atlanta Silverbacks on Saturday. That draw brings them up to 14 points for the Fall Season and 26 for the year. At 26 points, the Scorpions sit in ninth place, eight points behind fourth seed, FC Edmonton.
If the Scorpions want to make the most of their remaining six games, they must focus and avoid little mistakes.
“You guys have been hearing me say it all year long” said head coach Alen Marcina following Saturday’s draw. “Individual errors are killing us, not much more I can say.”
The Scorpions were down by two goals toward the end of last week’s match against Atlanta. However, Scorpions’ Marvin Chávez and César Elizondo managed to score two goals after the 80th minute mark of the game.
San Antonio will go up against the Fort Lauderdale Strikers on tonight at 7:30 at Toyota Field.
