The San Antonio Scorpions knew they could not leave Georgia without a point. Luckily for the defending champions, a rally saved them from that fate.

Omar Cummings scored two goals as the Scorpions rallied to earn a 3-3 draw against the Atlanta Silverbacks on Saturday evening.

Atlanta got on the scoreboard in the 23′ minute when Pedro Ferreira Mendes redirected a shot past San Antonio goalkeeper Matt Cardone to put the home team up early. Cummings put home a header just two minutes later to even the score 1-1.

In the second half, the Silverbacks took a two goal lead. Junior Burgos scored on a free kick in the 51′ and Jaime Chávez made it 3-1 in the 57′, but that would not stop the red and black from fighting back.

San Antonio rallied back as Billy Forbes put home a goal in the 60′ and Cummings scored his second of the match in the 71′. Neither team could find the game-tying goal and the game would end in a draw.
