Daryl Sattler has made big saves during his time in San Antonio. On Saturday night, the Atlanta Silverbacks saw what the 34-year-old can do as the San Antonio Scorpions came away victorious.
Omar Cummings scored his league-leading fifth goal of the Spring Season as the Scorpions earned a 1-0 win over the Atlanta Silverbacks in front of 5,000 fans inside Atlanta Silverbacks Park.
Both teams began the game with a steady pace, but that all changed just over 20 minutes in. Marvin Chavez intercepted a pass and passed the ball to Billy Forbes. Forbes then sent a pass across the box to Cummings, who buried it into the open net in the 26th minute. The Scorpions took the 1-0 lead into the second half.
The next 45 minutes were all about Sattler in net. Former Scorpion Hans Denissen put a shot on net which denied by Sattler, who stopped a rebound attempt as well. In the 81st minute, Denissen has a free kick attempt bounced off the wall and was stopped by a diving Sattler.
The Scorpions are now 3-2-4 (11 points) on the season and will close out the Spring Season next Saturday when they welcome the Ottawa Fury to Toyota Field at 7:30 p.m.
