San Antonio FC has signed forward Aly Alberto Hassan for the upcoming 2017 season, the team announced today.
Hassan joins SAFC after spitting the 2016 season with the Carolina RailHawks (NASL) and Charlotte Independence (USL). He scored one goal in 10 games with Carolina and recorded a goal and two assists to finish off the season in the USL with Charlotte.
“We’re excited to have Aly join us,” said SAFC Head Coach Darren Powell in a team press release. “He’s a striker who we feel will score goals. His strength is in front of goal and he can convert chances. He impressed us throughout the preseason and has worked hard throughout his time here in San Antonio. We’re looking forward to working with him on a full-time basis over the course of 2017.”
Hassan’s signing brings the SAFC roster up to 23 players.
San Antonio FC will return to the pitch this weekend to host Tulsa Roughnecks FC at 1 p.m. inside Toyota Field. The club will open the 2017 season on Sunday March 26 at RGV Toros FC before returning home to Toyota Field to host LA Galaxy II at 7:30 p.m. on April 1.
