San Antonio FC re-signs veteran midfielder Rafa Castillo for 2019 season

San Antonio FC has re-signed veteran midfielder for the 2019 USL Championship season, the team announced on Tuesday morning.

Castillo returns to SAFC for his fourth season after 63 appearances and 4,548 minutes in all competitions with the club since the inaugural 2016 season.

“We’re pleased to have Rafa back for the 2019 season,” SAFC Head Coach Darren Powell said in a statement. “His professionalism, leadership, and his abilities on the field are clear for all to see, and we expect him to have a prominent role within the group throughout the course of the campaign.”

Castillo has totaled 12 goals in his three years, making him the second-highest goalscorer all-time and he is just one of six SAFC players to appear in all three years of the clubs existence.
