Defender Cyprian Hedrick is returning to San Antonio FC for the 2018 USL season, the club announced on Thursday morning.
Hendrick recorded 65 duels won, 31 tackles, 14 interceptions and 13 blocks in the 2017 season with SAFC. The 28-year-old was one of the anchors that led a league-best defense for San Antonio, who recorded a USL-best 15 shutouts.
“We are looking forward to Cyprian returning for 2018,” said SAFC Head Coach Darren Powell through a team press release. “Cyprian had a tough start to last season with an injury that kept him out for several weeks, but he was a good professional throughout the whole of the campaign and played well when he returned. We are excited about Cyprian coming back to top form come preseason.”
Hendrick will re-join SAFC minutes leader Greg Cochrane as San Antonio looks to once again be at the top of the list of defense in 2018.
Joining Hendrick in returning to SAFC is Cochrane, goalkeepers Deigo Restrepo and Matt Cardone, Cesar Elizondo, and Ever Guzman.
