San Antonio FC and Rayo OKC of the NASL played to a 1-1 draw in a preseason friendly inside the campus of Mountain View College on Saturday afternoon.
Milton Palacios got SAFC on the scoreboard when Jason Johnson sent him the ball and Palacios buried it into the net as San Antonio took the one goal lead into halftime.
Rayo OKC tied the game in the second half when Michel put home a free-kick from the edge of the box. Neither team would score as the match ended in a 1-1 draw.
“Today was a good exercise,” said SAFC Head Coach Darren Powell. “I thought both teams fought in a very competitive match. For us, we were able to get the contracted players 45 minutes each. All in all there’s a lot of positives to take from today’s game, but there’s also some things we need to work on. We will get back together as a group this week and continue to improve for the following weekend.”
San Antonio FC will open their first season in the Alamo City on the road April 3 against the Seattle Sounders 2 before returning home for their home opener on April 9 against the Swope Park Rangers at Toyota Field.
