San Antonio FC Placed In Group D for USL Championship Resumed Season

With the USL Championship set to resume play on July 11, the league announced the groups each team will be in for the rest of the season on Thursday afternoon. For San Antonio FC, they will face off against some pretty heated rivals.

SAFC will compete in Group D for the rest of the 2020 season, facing off against Austin Bold, FC Tulsa, OKC Energy FC, and RGV FC three different times. The remaining games  will be played against teams that fall within a similar geographic region to avoid heavy travel due to COVID-19.

San Antonio FC played their lone game of the 2020 season on March 7, a 1-0 win over Real Monarchs SLC at Toyota Field. That win will count towards the 16-game season. In their history, SAFC has a record of 5-2-2 record vs. FC Tulsa, 2-1-7 record against OKC Energy FC, 3-5-4 record vs. RGV FC, and a 1-1-0 record against the Austin Bold.
