SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio FC has signed forward Evan Guzman for the rest of the 2017 USL season, the club announced on Friday afternoon.
Guzman joins SAFC from Liga MX in Mexico, where he has played since 2004. He recently played with Correcaminos UAT, where he scored 10 goals in 16 matches. The 29-year-old has spent over 10 years playing professionally in both Mexico’s first and second divisions.
“We are looking forward to having Ever join the squad,” said SAFC Head Coach Darren Powell through a team press release. “He comes with a good pedigree having played at a very high level. He has come into training and shown some good qualities both with and without the ball, and we are excited to have him here in San Antonio.”
Guzman made his professional debut with Monarcas Morelia in 2004 and has made over 70 appearances in the last 13 years with the club.
The signing of Guzman brings the SAFC roster to 24 players.
San Antonio FC is currently 11-1-7 on the season and will return to the pitch tomorrow night when they face the Orange County FC at 7:30 p.m. at Toyota Field.
