San Antonio FC earned a 2-1 win over Corinthians FC in a closed door, preseason friendly at Toyota Field on Wednesday afternoon.
The home squad got on the scoreboard in the first half after SAFC forward Jason Johnson was awarded a penalty kick after being taken down in the box. Johnson buried the kick to put his team up by a goal. Corinthians FC answered back just before halftime to knot the score at one goal apiece.
SAFC came out aggressive and took the lead for good when a trialist sent a long kick towards the net, beating the Corinthians keeper to put San Antonio up 2-1.
San Antonio FC will continue preseason play this Saturday when they welcome the RGV Toros to Toyota Field for another closed door friendly at 11 a.m.
The team will open their first season in the Alamo City on the road April 3 against the Seattle Sounders 2 before returning home for their home opener on April 9 against the Swope Park Rangers at Toyota Field.
