San Antonio FC will open the 2019 USL Championship season with back-to-back home games against Phoenix Rising FC on March 9 and Portland Timbers 2 on March 16.
The club officially announced their schedule for the 2019 season on Wednesday as the club prepares for their fourth season in the USL. SAFC will have a family friendly home schedule with 14 Saturday matches, two Wednesday matches and one Friday match at Toyota Field.
SAFC hits the road for the first time on March 23 to face the Colorado Switchbacks FC and then on March 30 to face expansion side Austin Bold FC. San Antonio will play four new expansion teams in 2019 against Austin, El Paso Locomotive, and New Mexico United.
The club will host Seattle Sounders FC 2 on Friday, April 26, making it the first time in franchise history that SAFC will play a match at home during Fiesta San Antonio.
Additionally, the league announced that the 2019 USL Cup Playoffs will expand to include 10 teams from each conference. The four lowest seeds will participate in a Play-In Round before advancing to the next round to face the higher seeded team.
