San Antonio FC adds Austin Dunker and Lee Johnston to roster

San Antonio FC have added defender Austin Dunker and goalkeeper Lee Johnston to their roster for the upcoming 2016 season, the team announced on Friday afternoon.

Dunker played his college game at Elon University under SAFC Head Coach Darren Powell and most recently spent time with the Seattle Sounders U-23 team.

“I couldn’t be more excited to join San Antonio FC,” said Dunker. “This is a great city and one that is passionate about its soccer. I want to thank the management and coaching staff for the opportunity to be a part of something special.”

Johnston comes to San Antonio from the West Virginia University after transferring from the University of Pittsburgh. The 23-year-old goalkeeper will be trying to earn a spot from Matt Cardone and Josh Ford.

“I’m really excited to join SAFC,” said Johnston. “Everyone in the organization has been very welcoming and supportive. It’s a great environment to be in as we prepare for the upcoming season.”

San Antonio FC will open their first season in the Alamo City on the road April 3 against the Seattle Sounders 2 before returning home for their home opener on April 9 against the Swope Park Rangers at Toyota Field.
