San Antonio FC midfielder Cristian Parano has been named to the USL Championship Team of the Week, the league announced on Tuesday.
Parano earns the honor after scoring a pair of goals in SAFC’s 4-1 win over second-place Reno 1868 FC last Saturday.
“I’m thrilled to be named the USL Championship Player of the Week, but this wouldn’t have happened without my teammates and coaches who have helped me reach this level,” said Parano in a press release. “I hope to continue playing well and continue working hard.”
In addition to his two goals, the Argentinian midfielder also added four shots and completed 30 of his 36 total passes.
The 19-year-old is the fourth SAFC player to earn the honor after Matthew Cardone (2016), forward Cesar Elizondo (2017) and forward Ever Guzman (2017).
San Antonio FC returns to league action this Saturday when they face rivals RGV FC at Toyota Field with kickoff scheduled for 7:30 pm Central Time.
