San Antonio FC has signed defender Joshua Yaro for the 2019 USL Championship season, the club announced on January 11.
“We are excited to have Joshua join us for the 2019 season,” said SAFC Head Coach Darren Powell via a press release. “He is an extremely talented center-back with good one-vs-one defending skills and is very quick. Obviously, he has great experiences with Georgetown and with the Union, so we look forward to having him join us in San Antonio.”
Yaro joins the club after spending time with Philadelphia Union and their USL affiliate the Bethlehem Steel. He’s tallied 3,204 minutes and picked up just four yellow cards in his time with the Steel. Meanwhile, he made 17 appearances totaling 1,326 minutes with the Union as he helped them reach the 2016 MLS Playoffs.
San Antonio FC will open the 2019 season on March 9 against Phoenix Rising FC at Toyota Field at 7:30 pm Central Time.
