In their two previous matches against their in-state rivals, San Antonio FC and Rio Grande Valley played tight contests. That was the same on Saturday despite an hour delay.

San Antonio FC fell 0-1 to the Rio Grande Valley FC Toros at UTRGV Soccer Complex in the third meeting between the two teams.

After an hour delay due to weather, the match finally got underway. The lone goal of the match came just before halftime off a set piece from RGV defender Kevin Garcia in the 41st minute.

SAFC had several chances in the second half, the best from Greg Cochrane who was denied by the RGV keeper one-on-one.

The loss keeps the club in 12th place in the USL table so far on the weekend.

Up next: San Antonio FC is now 2-4-5 (10 points) on the season and will return to the pitch next Saturday when they travel to Portland to face Portland Timbers 2 at 9 p.m.
