San Antonio FC earned a point in a 1-1 draw with the Portland Timbers 2 inside Merlo Field on Saturday evening.

SAFC would pay the price for a mistake off a Portland corner when Carlos Alvarez headed the ball into his own net, putting the home squad up by a goal in the 15th minute. Despite some good chances from San Antonio, the score would stand as is after 45 minutes.

In the second half, SAFC would push the pace and send shots towards the Portland net. San Antonio finally converted in the 87th minute when Milton Palacios found the back of the net to even the score 1-1. The tally was the first for San Antonio in USL play since April 30.

Up next: San Antonio FC will return to the pitch on Wednesday to take on the Houston Dynamo (MLS) in the fourth round of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup.
