It is expected that Spurs Sports and Entertainment will announce a United Soccer League team that will play at Toyota Field for the 2016 season tomorrow morning at Toyota Field.
Earlier Monday, Bexar County commissioners approved the agreement for Toyota Field, allowing Spurs Sports and Entertainment to operate the stadium as it works to bring Major League Soccer to San Antonio.
The news means the San Antonio Scorpions, who called Toyota Field home and won the 2014 NASL championship will likely be no more.
A Twitter account with the name @USLSanAntonio began tweeting and informing fans of the event earlier in the afternoon on Monday.
If SS&E does secure a MLS team, the public will vote for the expansion of Toyota Field.
Check back tomorrow for coverage of the announcement and follow Stephen Anderson on Twitter for live updates.
