According to USA Today, The Alliance of American Football is the danger of folding without help from the National Football League Players Association.
AAF’s chairman Tom Dundon told the publication NFLPA is not cooperating with the AAF and it could leading the first-year league to fold.
“If the players union is not going to give us young players, we can’t be a development league,” Dundon told USA Today Sports. “We are looking at our options, one of which is discontinuing the league.”
The San Antonio Commanders lead the league in attendance, averaging 29,000 fans per game far ahead of the other teams. The league was planning to be a developmental league to the NFL, much like the G-League is to the NBA.
