Rampage sign Smith and Lofquist to AHL contracts


The San Antonio Rampage have signed center Trevor Smith and defenseman Sam Lofquist to AHL contracts, the team announced on Tuesday morning.

Smith spent the 2017-18 season with the Milwaukee Admirals, where he tallied 17 goals in 66 contests. The 33-year-old defenseman has played 12 years in the AHL with Bridgeport, Springfield, Syracuse, Norfolk, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, Toronto, and Milwaukee. In that time he has totaled 184 goals, 254 assists, and 438 points.

Lofquist spent the 2017-18 season with the EHC Biel-Bienne of the National League of Switzerland. He scored four goals in 24 appearances and has spent the majority of his career playing in the leagues of Sweden and Finland.

The Rampage will drop the puck on the 2018-19 season on October 6 when they welcome the Grand Rapids Griffins to the AT&T Center at 7 p.m. The team will play a home preseason game against the Texas Stars on September 26 at 7:30 p.m.
