Rampage shutout by Barracuda

The San Antonio Rampage resumed their Rodeo Road Trip on Saturday afternoon with a stop in California. Unfortunately, the Silver and Black could not find their offense and fell in their fourth game of the Rodeo Trip.

The Rampage fell 5-0 to the San Jose Barracuda in front of 4,696 fans inside the SAP Center on Saturday afternoon, making it the second time that San Antonio has been blanked this season.

San Jose took advantage of an early power play when Ben Smith scored 10 seconds into the advantage. The goal would stand as the lone goal of the first period.

The home team added to their lead with two goals in the middle frame. Patrick McNalley scored at 2:25 and Nikita Jevpalovs scored midway through the period to make it 3-0 going into the final frame.

Smith added his second goal of the night at 4:26 of the third period and Bryan Lerg scored at 11:25 to seal the 5-0 victory for the Barracuda.

Roman Will stopped 38 of 43 shots he faced in the loss.

The Rampage are now 22-22-7-0 (0.500) on the season and will return to the ice tonight at 6 p.m. when they travel to Stockton to face the Heat inside Stockton Arena.
