Goon Squad competed in the 15 and under division at the Texas Showdown National Championship 7on7 14th and 15th in Round Rock.

Highlights:

In a night where nothing went right, the San Antonio Rampage fell 6-3 to the Texas Stars in front of 5,526 fans inside the Cedar Park Center on Wednesday night. The loss was the first in regulation for the Silver and Black, who came into the contest as the lone team in the league without a regulation loss.

Texas started the game hot as they scored three goals in the first six minutes. Travis Morin got things started with a backhand shot past San Antonio netminder Roman Will at 3:36. Cory Kane and Brendan Ranford scored 1:16 apart to put the Stars up 3-0. The Rampage were given a power play chance, but a turnover led to a Jason Dickinson goal, giving Texas the 4-0 lead going into the second period.

The Rampage got on the scoreboard early in the middle frame. Joey Hishon beat Texas goaltender Jack Campbell to make it 3-1, but former Rampage captain Greg Rallo scored on his old team to give the Stars their four goal lead back.

Andrew Agozzino returned to the lineup and scored his sixth goal of the season to make it 5-2. The Rampage added another goal at 4:22 as Nikita Zadorov beat Campbell from the high slot to make it 5-3, scoring his second goal in many games.

Jason Dickinson sealed the 6-3 win for Texas with his second goal of the night.

Roman Will finished with 35 saves on 41 shots and Campbell made 23 saves on 26 San Antonio shots. Both teams finished 0-for-3 on the power play.

The Rampage are now 6-1-4-0 (16 points) on the season and will return to the ice tomorrow night to welcome the Stockton Heat to the AT&T Center at 7:30 p.m.
