Katy Red Raiders competed in the 15 and under division at the Texas Showdown National Championship 7on7 14th and 15th in Round Rock.

Highlights:

The San Antonio Rampage opened up their 11-game Rodeo Road Trip with a 4-3 loss to the Texas Stars in front of 5,591 fans inside the Cedar Park Center on Saturday night.

Texas got three goals in the opening frame to make it a good start for the home squad. Esa Lindell put home a goal midway through the first period. Brett Ritchie and Brandon Ranford each scored a tally as the Stars took a 3-0 lead into the middle frame.

San Antonio got on the board less than two minutes into the second period. Borna Rendulic beat Philippe Desrosiers with a shot from the right circle to make it a 3-1 game. Rendulic would score his second of the frame to make it a one goal game, but Travis Morin burned the Rampage late in the period to make it a 4-2 game after 40 minutes.

The Rampage pulled Roman Will for an extra attacker, but they would not be able to rally back. Maxim Noreau scored the lone tally of the third period as the good guys fell 4-3.
