Rampage name Brian McCormack as new radio broadcaster

The San Antonio Rampage have tabbed Brian McCormack as the team’s new radio play-by-play announcer for the upcoming 2018-19 season, the team announced on Monday afternoon.

McCormack replaces Dan Weiss, who will move to the Spurs broadcasting team and replace Andrew Monaco. He will also serve as the team’s new Media Relations Manager.

“We are excited to welcome Brian to our organization,” said Mike Kickirillo, SS&E Sr. Director of Broadcasting in a statement. “Brian is a solid play-by-play announcer who possesses an excellent feel for the game and can provide a great picture to the listener.”

McCormack comes to San Antonio after spending the last three season as the Director of Media Relations and Broadcasting with the ECHL’s Idaho Steelheads, earning the 2017-18 ECHL Broadcaster of the Year honor for his services.

The Rampage will drop the puck on the 2018-19 season on October 6 when they welcome the Grand Rapids Griffins to the AT&T Center at 7 p.m. The team will play a home preseason game against the Texas Stars on September 26 at 7:30 p.m.
