The San Antonio Rampage lost their top goaltender Dan Ellis to the parent club Florida Panthers after Roberto Luongo was injured. Since then, Michael Houser has gotten every start, posting a solid record in each of his games between the pipes. However, the Silver and Black have brought help for their netminder.
San Antonio has signed goaltender Jacob DeSerres amateur tryout contract, Rampage General Manager Eric Joyce announced. The team also announced they have released goalie Joe Howe.
DeSerres finished his career at the University of Calgary, where he posted a 2.10 goals against average in 48 games. The 25-year-old was selected by the Philadelphia Flyers in the 2008 NHL Draft, he spent time with the WHL’s Seattle Thunderbirds. He had a 2.22 goals against average and a .916 save percentage.
The Rampage are 36-20-5-1 for 78 points on the season and will take on the Oklahoma City Barons on Friday evening at 7 p.m. inside the Cox Convention Center.
