The San Antonio Rampage won their second game in a row, and the second of a back-to-back versus the Iowa Wild, with a 2-1 win Monday night inside the Wells Fargo Center.
Coming off of a 3-2 win on Sunday night, the Rampage started out slow allowing Kurtis Gabriel to give Iowa the first goal of the game with just seconds remaining in the first period.
However, the Rampage were quick to answer as Dennis Everberg, beat Wild goaltender Leland Irving at 4:34 of the middle frame to tie the game at one goal apiece. Patrick Bordeleau and Joey Hishon assisted on Everburg’s sixth goal of the season.
Finally, two minutes into the 3rd period, Colin Smith came up with the game-winning goal for the Rampage with an assist from Mikko Rantanen. The tally would officially be a short-handed goal.
These two wins are the first wins for the silver and black since the end of December. The Rampage will now have a break for the Christmas holiday and won’t hit the ice until Sunday when they take on the Texas Stars at 4 p.m. at the AT&T Center.
