AT&T Center – The San Antonio Rampage have had a busy weekend inside the friendly confines as they finally shook off a two-month long home skid. Unfortunately, they would not make it a perfect weekend as they fell to their in-state rivals.

Sam Henley scored the lone Rampage goal as the good guys fell 6-1 to the Texas Stars in front of 4,211 fans at the AT&T Center on Sunday afternoon.

Texas took the lead for good just over three minutes into the game when Derek Hulak found the back of the net, beating goaltender Spencer Martin. Curtis McKenzie converted on his seventh goal of the season eight minutes later to give the Stars a 2-0 lead going into the second period.

Former Rampage captain Greg Rallo burned his old team twice with back-to-back goals in the middle frame. First, he let go a wrist shot from the left circle to make it 3-0. The third Texas goal forced San Antonio coach Dean Chynoweth to pull Martin in favor of Roman Will. Rallo’s would light the lamp, this time on the power play, putting the Stars up 4-0 after 40 minutes.

The Stars extended their lead to 5-0 with a Radek Faksa tally in the final frame. Sam Henley got the lone San Antonio goal later in the period. Texas sealed their 6-1 win with Travis Morin’s 12th goal of the season.

“Tonight was a tough one from the stand point of the first period,” Chynoweth said. “They were beating us to pucks. They played with more urgency and desperation. We got it going in the second period, but these are points we need at this time of year.”

San Antonio was outshot 36-31 for the game and finished 0-for-2 on the power play. Texas finished 1-for-5 on the man advantage.

The Rampage are now 18-19-7-0 on the season and will return to the ice on Friday night to welcome the San Jose Barracuda to the AT&T Center at 7:30 p.m.
