AT&T Center – It has been a common problem for the San Antonio Rampage this season: not competing for 60 minutes. That same problem reared its ugly head as the Silver and Black allowed four consecutive goals en route to another home loss.

The Rampage scored early, but fell 4-2 to the Rockford IceHogs in front of 6,769 fans at the AT&T Center on Friday night.

San Antonio opened the scoring when Andrew Agozzino put the puck past Rockford netminder Mark Visentin at 6:16 on the power play, giving the Rampage the 1-0 lead going into the second period.

Joey Hishon put the Silver and Black up two goals when he took the pass from Mikko Rantanen and beat Visentin four minutes into the frame. Rockford would score four consecutive goals, including three in the final nine minutes to take the lead.

Jake Dowell started the scoring off with a goal at 5:36 when he sent a shot past San Antonio goaltender Calvin Pickard. Ville Pokka and Ryan Hartman added goals to give the IceHogs a 3-2 lead going into the final period.

Rockford got an insurance goal from Bryan Bickell at 4:02 of the third period to cap off the scoring.

“Our third (period) was a lot better than our second,” Hishon said. “We had a big letdown in the second. We’ve got to keep our foot on the gas, when you let up a bit teams take advantage of it.”

The Rampage were outshot 32-22 for the game, including 15-3 in the middle stanza. San Antonio finished 2-for-5 on the power play, while Rockford was 1-for-4.

The Rampage are now 11-4-6-0 (28 points) on the season and will return to the ice on Sunday afternoon to close out their weekend set with the IceHogs at 4 p.m. at the AT&T Center.
