IOWA – Despite a quick start to the game, the San Antonio Rampage fell 3-2 to the Iowa Wild (25-15-7-3) at Wells Fargo Arena on Monday night.
San Antonio stuck quickly after the opening puck drop as Andrew Agozzino redirected a shot by David Warsofsky into the net just 30 seconds into the game. The goal from Agozzino was his 10th of the season and was the lone goal of the first period.
The Wild knotted the score in the second period when Colten Beck shot a wrist shot past Rampage goaltender Ville Husso at 5:59. Iowa took the lead when Luke Kunin banged home a rebound just over five minutes later.
Jesse Graham tied the game at two apiece just over a minute later at 10:55 after beating two Iowa defenders and slipping the puck past Wild goaltender Niklas Svedberg. Iowa took the lead for good with Kunin’s second of the night before the middle stanza ended.
The third period would be scoreless as both teams could not light the lamp.
The Rampage are now (24-20-6-0) on the season and will return to the ice on Wednesday against the Milwaukee Admirals (25-20-4-0) at the Bradley Center.
