Highlights:
The San Antonio Rampage are coming home after nearly a month away from the friendly confines. One final stop on their 11-game Rodeo Road Trip saw them in Stockton to face the Heat for the final time this season.
The Rampage fought hard, but fell short 3-2 to the Heat in front of 4,677 fans inside Stockton Arena on Sunday night to wrap up their Rodeo Road Trip.
After a scoreless first period, Stockton would find the back of the net in the second period. With his team on a power-play, Freddie Hamilton put home the puck past San Antonio goaltender Roman Will to make it a one goal game. San Antonio answered back when Nikita Zadorov banged home the biscuit past Stockton net minder Kevin Poulin to knot the score at one goal apiece. Two Heat goals in 19 seconds would be the difference as Bill Arnold and Turner Elson made it 3-1 after 40 minutes.
San Antonio’s second consecutive rally attempt would fall short this time. Andrew Agozzino scored late in the third period to make it 3-2, but the Rampage could not get the equalizer.
The Silver and Black finished the game 1-for-5 on the power-play, while Stockton was 1-for-8 with the man advantage. The Heat outshot the Rampage 42-38 for the game. San Antonio finishes the Rodeo Road Trip 4-6-1-0 with 9 points.
The Rampage are now 24-26-8-0 (56 points, 0.483%) on the season and will return to the ice on Friday night when they welcome the Manitoba Moose to the AT&T Center at 7:30 p.m. for Military Appreciation Night.
