SAN ANTONIO – The AT&T Center is the arena no AHL team wants to visit and the Rockford IceHogs (16-16-8) were the latest team to find that out.

The San Antonio Rampage used a two-goal second period to defeat the IceHogs 4-3 inside the friendly confines in front of 5,278 fans on Saturday night.

The win pushes San Antonio’s home winning streak to ten games and improved to 16-6 at the AT&T Center this season.

“I was pretty happy with the performance,” Rampage coach Drew Bannister said. “Everyone contributed up front and on the back end. Overall, I’m very happy with our performance against a very good hockey team.”

San Antonio opened the scoring in the first period when Trevor Smith got the puck from Nolan Stevens and put it home for his six of the season and 500th professional point of his career.

The second period saw Rockford get within one as Dylan Sikura scored at 1:29 but Tanner Kaspic gave the Rampage the lead back at 8:18 from the left circle to make it a 2-1 game. Jordan Nolan put the Rampage up 3-1 with his ninth goal of the season at 17:17.

Jordan Schroeder added two goals for Rockford in the third period and Nolan added his second of the game to finalize the scoring at 4-3.
