Rampage cut seven, roster stands at 25

With the start of the AHL season fast approaching, the San Antonio Rampage made some cuts from their roster after two preseason games over the weekend. As well as cuts, several players were also re-assigned to minor league affiliates.

The Florida Panthers announced on Monday that the team has released Erik Higby, Francis Beauvillier, Joe Basaraba, Stephan Vigier, and Andrew Blazek. The club also reassigned goaltender Sam Brittain and forward Wade Megan to the Cincinnati Cyclones of the ECHL. It was also announced Higby would join the Missouri Mavericks of the CHL.

San Antonio’s roster now stands at 25 players.

The Rampage will return to the ice on Friday when they open the 2014-15 season against the Iowa Wild at the AT&T Center at 7:30 p.m.
